Well - all that's left is painting 'H M 2012' on the back of each one (because I will get stressed out writing Night of the Hunter's Moon. We're shortening it a bit. ^_^
As much as I detested attending high school - that place had one thing right: The colors. Black and orange! YAY!
Unfortunately I didn't care for sports and only wearing one of the two didn't count.
But I have friends with kids and family who are really in to the sports thing and one asked for this scarf ^_^ It's hard to see but the fuzzy trim is also sparkly. She'll love it!
I never get to make as many as I want... but it is hard to find a good pumpkin! Not one of those stupid 'perfect' ones everyone else digs through the bin for.. the ugly, warped ones! They make the BEST Jack-O-Lanterns!
I peruse the pumpkin bin every time I can afford to and snag the ones with a little personality. This is the one I found a couple days ago.
So: next event for NOS is Night of the Hunter's Moon on the 13th and I have a few projects involved in it.
First: Site tokens!
We got some little wooden owls and disks - I have them glued and the owls painted black. The background needs to be painted white on the rest.
After that - I am painting the targets for knife, axe and spear. These will be medieval monsters/demons.
ALSO! I am hoping to have done three light cloaks for the three of us entering the bardic competition. I'm really nervous since it requires memorization, synchronization and all that good stuff... but we have only three weeks and Sunday mornings are the only times we have to work together. EEK!
Oh! Also working on a commissioned school color scarf!
It's hard to get really good pictures of these things. The top set are done in shades of red with a ring of gold flecks.
The bottom set has orange and copper streaks with a brown background. I am not entirely pleased with the flat, blah brown I ended up using. To pale to look good to me... but someone else may like them.
I am almost ready to begin the special bardic staff. Unfortunately, I will not be posting pictures of the progress until it is finished and given away. It will not be a speedy process. I found the right stick for it. I need Jessy to make a bag to keep it in. He will be the only person I will allow to see it since it will be near impossible to hide it from him, too.
It will be given to a NOS bard who has their heart in the right place - someone who puts forth effort consistently and works hard to make improvement. It's alright if the staff takes a while to finish - I need more observation time ^_^
Since the last update I have mostly been working on a story I am co-authoring with a friend and my Heraldic Glossary.
I am making good progress on both, but neither are really in a state that can be shared yet.
The Glossary is both an enthusiasm and an annoyance - there are many charges that are mentioned but not illustrated. At least not in free sources and I am too broke to really dig properly.
Other than that - I have been tricked in to reading Homestuck (an interactive comic) and find myself thinking about some fan art. ^_^ There is a dress I want to make and it is sorely tempting to make some amigurumi.... but I have NO experience in anything like that so I'm a bit hesitant.
The Glossary really should come first. I've been procrastinating and making only moderate progress for over a year now.
I hope you come across something entertaining or interesting. But you might not. I'm trying to organize my chaotic mind and this place is essentially me thinking out loud.
