As much as I detested attending high school - that place had one thing right: The colors. Black and orange! YAY!
Unfortunately I didn't care for sports and only wearing one of the two didn't count. But I have friends with kids and family who are really in to the sports thing and one asked for this scarf ^_^ It's hard to see but the fuzzy trim is also sparkly. She'll love it! Is that a real word? Probably not. Consider it a symptom. So: next event for NOS is Night of the Hunter's Moon on the 13th and I have a few projects involved in it. First: Site tokens! We got some little wooden owls and disks - I have them glued and the owls painted black. The background needs to be painted white on the rest. After that - I am painting the targets for knife, axe and spear. These will be medieval monsters/demons.
ALSO! I am hoping to have done three light cloaks for the three of us entering the bardic competition. I'm really nervous since it requires memorization, synchronization and all that good stuff... but we have only three weeks and Sunday mornings are the only times we have to work together. EEK! Oh! Also working on a commissioned school color scarf! Ears done! Tail done!
Time for they eyes (and maybe nose... but probably just a couple big button eyes. ^_^ It is painfully fluffy - it took quite a bit of smoothing to make the ears visible at all through the fur. More tactile than obvious... Step one - Crochet a ball and a tail. Check!
Step two - Add ears, extend tail. (It's a lot fluffier than I originally thought it would be) Step three - sew on button eyes... maybe nose... I have to see if I have a good button for a nose... Step four - throw at wall and see if it survives. So - for my first trick I will attempt to make sleeve... glove.... things. Without fingers. For now. Probably forever. We'll see.
It's something I've been wanting to make for my husband for some time - I just haven't had much faith in my skill. Certainly not enough to attempt something like this. I'm still not sure I'll pull it off since I don't have a pattern - more just an idea. I've been having him try it on every six or seven rows to make sure I'm getting the increases and decreases right. Pictures soon (right now it just looks like a big bracelet) |
