And so I start, ever optimistic.
But... realistically... I need to go over every little inch of this carpet. Did you know it's supposed to be white? Yeah... pretty grey now....
Seriously - who in their right mind puts a white carpet in the room with the highest traffic?

Is it perfect? No... not quite....
Is it a massive improvement? OH YEAH!
I mostly focused here because this is where the table goes and our paranoid cat is freaking out at the rearranging of furniture.

I got the area under the phone, too. It wasn't too much to worry about.
And I worked a bit on the stain by the front door.
I'm still pretty discouraged as to the chances of it coming out entirely... but it's not as dark. Although... now you can see just how dark the rest of the carpet is! LOL I'll have to go over that area one little bit at a time until it's been cleaned up.

In all, I'm glad the cleaner is $1 a bottle.
Now, from the first experience I had with this I can tell you two things.
First - the towels will remain a bit mottled but will wash. The areas that look scorched are not scorched - just really dirty.
Second - with a little baking soda and water paste, the iron will clean up just fine. Granted, it'll still be old and ugly - but that burned look is not permanent. (I've heard magic erasers work best to clean that gunk off... but I have baking soda and keep forgetting magic erasers.)
SO - that's it for the moment. Time to get furniture put back and prepare for the NOS event this weekend! I'll get back to cleaning next week!
