Lots of progress! Seriously! This came together much faster than I expected! Had I devoted full attention to it, I could probably get one of these done in under two days. Even sewing by hand it wasn't very difficult!
I was mostly nervous about the stitching on the visible edges. They are usually turned back on top to show off the lining which means there will be no hiding the stitchwork. I'm not known for good embroidery skills.... I usually just use a blanket stitch and ripped that out FAST when I started with it. Looked TERRIBLE.
I finally settled on a whipped running stitch. I like the slightly wavy look of it and it really went a long way to making everything look more even.
Once I finished that, the last part to finishing it up is adding buttons to close the front (if so desired)

I opted for cloth buttons and some loops. Today I have been working on the buttons (off and on. Cleaning, etc. to be done as well). Easy enough to make, really.
A running stitch close to the edge of the circle, pull it tight and do a backstitch all the way around. Repeat the process and you have a button! Excellent ^_^
