Apologies! I have been quite busy with a side of lazy.
Multi-update today!

The target is almost done. Original plans for edging fell through (Shock? Surprise? Nope.) so there is tape to even things out. I should have done this between the two layers of cardboard. Thought of it late... so another layer needs to be added. After that a bit of spray paint and it's done!
While still cool - the original is being a real pain to balance. The wings are too large, the head too heavy. Any alterations will make the whole thing way too heavy for the required use... so I started the next two and set it aside.
These have two strings to assure proper balance.

As you can see, they are making good progress. They are far from perfect... but I can't afford to obsess over perfection on items that will be destroyed next month.
Next - the chair.
Next - the chair.
It took time and annoyed the crap out of the neighbors, but we got the pieces cut. All done with hand tools. A saw, chisel and hammer. The torso is my awesome husband who did the majority of the work while I cheered him on.
The finished chair base. It is sittable!
Not perfect... very heavy. He plans on cutting a bit from the 'feet' to give it four points to balance on which will improve stability.
We will shortly be chiselling the top to better fit the shapes to be carved/burned in. Sanding has begun (boy, is oak hairy!) and we are still trying to narrow down possible projects for the remaining wood.
