Sort of as a tribute, maybe an attempt to get it going again or just for fun, a few of the women have decided they want to have fun steampunky hats to wear this year.
So... we hit The Big City and got some plain hats.
We tried to find real, good hats... but had to settle for some sturdy hats from a party store. Plastic base with a coating that makes them more pleasant to wear. There were two bowlers and three with sherrif stars on them (that I ripped off because they were awful).
From there, we went to craft stores and gathered supplies, trying to keep in mind the personality of each person so we could make sure they really love the hats.
I won't get to go but I still wanted one LOL The charm says 'Slay your own dragons'.
I'm very happy with it. It's not too dressy to wear!
I was a bit worried with this one... the ribbon was very uncooperative so now it's textured. Not in a bad way, though. She loves it and that's all that matters!!
I've also done one for mom but it's very different - she chose a beret style hat then ran off home with it before I got a picture!
There is one more hat that has not been claimed yet - it will probably be entered in to the auction. I want to play with a couple straw hats and a less restrictive theme... just see what happens, you know? First I must find the hats....
