It is not that I have been doing nothing....
The last few days have been spent on the archery target. I got the Cluricaun target cut out and almost ready to paint - I'm working on the edges. This time I'm just doing a couple layers of paper mache. We ran two zip cords on the back to loop around a piece of rebar we will have staked in the ground. We have to plan for high wind since this IS Texas.

Cutting was a pain - Thick corrugated cardboard does not like doing that. By the time I finished with this, I had a system down - then cut an extra two so I can make another one later. ^_^
A little more work on the edges and it will be ready to paint. The top is ready to paint but I want to have it glued down before I start that.
But today I am taking a break from that and working on the Light Fighting Weapon and Armor chest.

The chest itself was built by Edward Hastings.
I will be decorating the sides with the handles, then it will get a coat of stain and sealant.
Of course I will be going with wood burning since it is the nicest smelling of my crafts. Nothing too intricate but enough to make it special. I think I will burn on the bottom the year and event name. I just want to make sure there is still area open for personalisation. They may want to paint a coat of arms or something, you know?
Well, that's one side drawn out. I should stop procrastinating and get back to it. I want to at least have the other side drawn by tonight. I hope to have SOME burning done by tonight. If not, I plan on having it all done by tomorrow. Then I have to start on heavy fighting chest (This is the small one. Yes, I'm serious. The other one is pretty awesome ^_^ It can double as a fort for the kids)
